Yummy sausages at Glosis and chocolatey chocolate at Dapur Cokelat

I’ve finished this month’s bandwidth limit and went overboard. Lol. The limit is 1GB per month and for someone who goes online for like, everyday, it is obviously not enough (how I wish for an unlimited broadband connection T___T). But I can’t get the unlimited one for now because I’m still not sure whether I will be here for work or fly off again. Usually, if I wasn’t around at home, the bandwidth wouldn’t go over limit as Mum and Dad didn’t use internet that much. But once I came home, I always make a good use of it. Lol. And this month, for the first time, it goes over limit. And it’s only the 14th of August!! Haven’t even reached half the month (oh well, just 1 more day and it will be half the month right? haha).

So anyway, I have quite a lot of stuffs and photos to post actually, but since I was considering my bandwidth limit and due to my laziness in resizing and editing the photos, they haven’t come up until now. Lol :p

I’m using my Dad’s wireless modem by the way. You know, the kind that looks like a flash disk so you can bring it anywhere you go and go online. Like the one Maxis has (for Malaysians). It has unlimited bandwidth but the connection is still kinda unstable because I kept on disconnecting every 5 minutes or so (and the connection was like …even snails are much faster!) -_-
But since 1 hour ago, I can go online fast and smoothly without any disconnection. I guess there were too many users went online earlier on.

One of my favorite restaurants as a child is Glosis. They served good European food with reasonable price.

I didn’t know when was it established as I couldn’t find any info about it online. All I know that it has been around for like 3/4 years of my life? Yes, veryyy long time. (Edit: I found out it was established on 1980! 6 years before my birthday leh!)

When I was a child, my parents and I went to eat at Glosis quite often. I love their specialty, the sausages! The sauces are soooo good!

That time, Glosis has only 1 outlet (if not mistaken lar) in Golden Truly shopping center in Center Jakarta. It wasn’t a high class shopping center by the way. I still remember a bit bit about how the restaurant looked like. It looked so classic with the classic interior design and dimmed light.

Then the shopping center was closed down.

And I have never eaten at Glosis ever since then.

Few years later, Glosis opened up new outlets in some shopping malls in Jakarta. One of them is in Mall Kelapa Gading. Of course I went there to eat la! (Since the mall is located in Kelapa Gading, my living complex, so it’s very convenient for me. Mwahahahaha :D). And of course, as the years gone by, their outlets’ style has changed to more simple and modern-looking.

Last weekend I went there with my mum after quite a long time…

And the delicious-ness is still the same πŸ™‚

Mum’s Baby Back Ribs – IDR 105,000

My Beef Thueringer – IDR 29,000

Ice Lemon Tea – IDR 9,000

Sorry la for the lack of photos. Cos that was the first time I took photos in Glosis. Lol :p

The price range here can be considered as OK, considering today’s price rising everywhere *shakes head*

Appetizer range from IDR 10,000-15,000
Main course range from IDR 40,000 – 105,000
Drinks range from IDR 10,000-20,000
and Desserts…I forgotten. I think it’s around IDR 15,000 or something

And our bills came to IDR 167,000 for 2 main course and 2 ice lemon teas.

On the way home, we stopped by at Dapur Cokelat (Chocolate Kitchen). From the name, you can obviously see that it’s a chocolate shop! πŸ˜€

Originally Dapur Cokelat has only 1 shop in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, but it has expanded its’ business into several areas around Jakarta, and of them (again) is in Kelapa Gading! (Oohhh how lucky I am! Living in the “city” of food and entertainment. Lol. I will talk further about this on the other post), and what’s more, it’s not far from my housing complex!

When you stepped your foot into the shop, you will feel like going into a home that’s turned into a chocolate shop (they are located in a housing lane actually). Like those in the children story books? Hahahaha

Everything they sell inside the shop is chocolatey. Suits the chocoholic πŸ˜‰

I think this was the 2nd or 3rd time I came here. I didn’t go here often tho.

This time I bought 3 cakes and some pralines πŸ˜€

The pralines – IDR 22,000 per ounce (approx. 9-10 pieces)
But the one in the middle (Rum Ball) is sold per piece for IDR 2,500
*Something* Strawberry (I forgotten the name) – IDR 8,500
Vanilla sponge cake with white chocolate and strawberries! πŸ˜€
Chocolate Cheese slice – IDR 10,000
Quite nice. Can taste both the chocolate and cheese
Choco Berry – IDR 10,000
Nice also. Combination of berries and chocolate (I LOVE berries) πŸ™‚

For a box of pralines and 3 slices of cakes I had to pay IDR 53,000 (well, not exactly I paid la actually. Mum paid for it. Lol :p)

They have this space for you to have your cakes on the spot. Provided with sofa and chairs. Sorry, no photos of this. Forgotten to take :p

And they are into cupcakes as well lately. Haven’t tried them though. Will do some other day πŸ˜‰
